What does 👐🏾 mean in texting?

What does 👐🏾 mean in texting? Usually a casual, friendly nudge — "noted", "mood", "same" or playful emphasis — rather than its literal definition. On WhatsApp and Instagram it softens a message, adds humour or signals you don't mean it too seriously. Pairing matters: 👐🏾 + 😭 = overwhelmed, 👐🏾 + 🔥 = hype, lone 👐🏾 = deadpan.

Meaning from a guy vs from a girl

From a guy, Open Hands: Medium-Dark Skin Tone 👐🏾 often signals casual interest or banter — he won't type a paragraph, so the emoji does the flirting. From a girl, 👐🏾 usually tunes the emotional temperature: warm, ironic or deliberately vague. Rule of thumb: flirty + frequent + paired with 👀😍 = interested; single 👐🏾 on a logistics text = just friendly.
